It got a little better when he transformed into a big, surly dude with tattoos, but even that was kind of goofy. It didn't help that the Minotaur looked like a high school mascot.

Minotaur maze key grounded series#
IGN's The Librarians: Series Premiere ReviewAs for the actual Minotaur plot, well, it was a little hit or miss. I also loved his quieted "Good luck," followed by a defensive "Nothing! Go away, I'm working." His TARDIS-like Back Door was a great way to keep him involved throughout the storyline, in addition to cutting down travel time for the team. In fact, Jenkins had some of the best moments in this episode. However, I think Romijn's best moments here were in conversations with John Larroquette, who is still crushing it as Jenkins. Her role as the grounded leader made for some rad moments, like her using gun-Morsecode to alert the team. Likewise, it was smart to give Rebecca Romijn's Eve an internal struggle with the Librarians, concerned for their safety. How about we not refer to the tumor that will one day kill me as a 'brain-grape.'") It's also cool how they all contributed to the case in their own unique ways: Cassie navigating the maze, Ezekiel absconding with the thread, and Jake using his art-and-myth knowhow to fill in the gaps (and getting beat up). The early scenes of them stuck in the Labyrinth were particularly great, especially the recurring bit about Cassie's tumor.

Even this early in, each of the Librarians has a distinct voice and personality, making it easy to connect with them on their own level. ( Awesome.) One of the better parts of the premiere was the core cast interplay, and that remained the case in this week's episode. Luckily, the group dynamic set up in the first two episodes went on strong in this week's "And the Horns of Dilemma," as the Librarians tracked down a Minotaur. After last week's two-part premiere, The Librarians' second adventure gave us a pretty good idea of what we can expect from a typical episode of the show, sans Noah Wyle (although there was a cool throwaway line about his Librarian being spotted in Budapest).
